PRESENTATION OF THE COURSE

English 2 Group: 18

  • Timetable: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5.30 to 8.00 pm.
    • First part of the class: from 5.30 to 6.50 pm.
    • Break time: from 6.50 to 7.00 pm.
    • Second part of the class: from 7.00 to 7.50 pm.
  • Books:
    • English File Elementary Student's Book.Third Edition. Oxenden, Clive, Latham-Koenig, Christina and Seligson, Paul. Oxford University Press.
    • English File Elementary Workbook.Third Edition. Oxenden, Clive, Latham-Koenig, Christina (et.al). Oxford University Press.
  • Last day for dropping out: 6 September.
  • End of the course: 11 December.
  • School records delivery: From 16 to 18 December; and 8 & 9 January 2014.
  • Christmas holidays: From 20 December to 6 January 2014.
  • Evaluation: The final grade is the average of the two exams.
    • 1st partial exam (Files 7, 8 & 9): 1 and 3 October.
    • 2nd partial exam (Files 10, 11 & 12): 3 and 5 December.
  • Assessment of 5 skills:
    • Reading (20%)
    • Writing (20%)
    • Use of English (20%)
    • Listening (20%)
    • Speaking (20%)
  • Passing grade: 8.0 and 80% of attendance (6 absences maximum)
    • 5 consecutive absences cause dropout.
  • Class rules:
    • You cannot be in class without your material.
    • Punctuality and use of English in class is really important!
    • If you are late, you cannot join an activity in progress.
  • A bilingual dictionary and an Easy Reader is recommended.
  • The use of the Workbook is at home. Be ready for its revisions. 
    • Assessment: Completion and accuracy.
